I wanted to provide a place to link to pages that are special to me. Above is me with Kathy Buckley, comedienee, motivational speaker, and now author. I first saw Kathy at a "Power of Women" conference in Seattle in 2000. Prior to her segment I was in a VERY long line for the bathroom. All of a sudden this lady comes through mumbles somthing and jumps in front of the line. I thought "who the hell was that and what makes her so special?" After getting back to my seat the next speaker was introduced and oops...it was her! One of the first things she said in her spiel was "isn't it true that when we see somebody we make a judgement and 90% of the time that judgement is negative". I wanted to crawl under my seat at this time. After hearing her full story I was truly moved. That night I searched the web, found her home page, and finally a link to provide feedback. I wrote a very detailed e-mail about how she had affected me that day. The next day there is a message on my phone at work from Kathy. We talked on the phone a couple of times after that and I just fell in love.

A year later I was at a conference in where Kathy was the evening speaker. I had told a few people my story above. Well at her dinner table, she started telling this story of a gal she met in the bathroom in Seattle. One of the gals at the table had heard my story and said "that was Vicki!". Kathy said, yes she thought that was the name. Well next thing I know I hear a bunch of people yelling my name and Kathy running my way to give me a big hug. We had some opportunity to talk that night and I'm still convinced she is a very special lady. So with that, I encourage you to visit her home page. And if you ever have the opportunity to hear her speak, DO IT! Her video and book are almost as motivational.

I had the pleasure of meeting Alison in Nashville in April 2000. This was at an American Adoption Congress conference. She was in a workshop with me and was a very pleasent gal. Later on I asked her if she wanted to join me for dinner and she said she'd love to but had to get ready for her show. Her show? Turns out she has a one women comedy show that evolves around her being born in Tennesee and adopted to a British couple. Talk about a collision course. Well this situation gives her plenty of material for her comedy.

Alison was also gracious enough to allow me to "pretend" I'm a professional photographer and photograph her rehearsal. Most pictures we not all that great, but at least I got one good one!

I'm always wondering how I can hook Kathy and Alison up because they have so much in common and could probably be great network resources for each other. Oh well.

Susan Tedeschi is my favorite musical artist. I fell in love the first time I heard her great blues voice and have kept a constant supply of her music around since. I only met Susan briefly, but she was very charming - a tough act being jet lagged, 11p, after a show, and first time traveling since become a mother. If you like rock and/or blues, you must check out this 2-Time Grammy Nominee artist by checking out the website below and linked e-cards.
